Resistance Against Innovation in Higher Education

One of the challenges when dealing with innovation, people have different definition of what innovation is. Innovation comes from the relationship and the strength of that relationship that always wants to be there to serve. With that there will be more willingness to be the best the college or university they can be.

Higher Education viewed as an Ecosystem

An ecosystem is interdependent. You live in an environment where your survival is dependent on building up others around you. With higher education you need to bring in the people along with you. You will even see various universities copying and using the same strategies. What should be done is for the university to come to together and discuss their strengths in order to leverage them so they will not fall into copying another school. A realization of the ecosystem needs to happen so there can be understanding of where the school can be successful.

Collaboration for Innovation

Institutions often want to compete against each other. To truly be successful when trying to innovate, collaboration is key. All things good that happen will happen from relationships. It is a underline necessity for innovation. There needs to be a reason for every collaboration to make sense. Both parties will gain benefit from any collaboration which will help both communities overall.
