They are the co-authors of the book “Grad to Grown-Up” which teaches everything you didn’t learn in school but all you need to know to launch your personal and professional life. The five sections—life, job search, career, personal finance, and health and relationships—provide real-world insights that are often overlooked in formal education.

He is a leading executive retained recruiter, placing over 1000 executives while building one of the largest search firms in the world. He is also chairman of Rice Cohen International, and co-founder of the Plant a Seed Inspire a Dream Foundation, which has helped over 700 kids children pursue their passions. He brings a desire to help others to all he does.

Why Are Internships So Important?

Regardless of paid or unpaid, internships are important to get real world experience. From that the students will actually get to see how their future dream job will be and gain the experience and exposure in their field. Sometimes students will have an idea of what they want to do in their life but they will have no idea how it is done and what their job will be like in the when they working full time. Some people will get the exposure to job that they thought they wanted to do and realize that it is not for them and some people will get the exposure to a job they really like and are good at. It is really critical that students reach out and apply for internships so they can get the needed exposure to realize what they want to do and do not want to do. From internships, you can possibly get huge opportunities either from the same company to go full time or another company will hire you based on your experience. After the internship is over, you should be able to say that you can see yourself in a higher position adding value and also enjoying the job. You should also be able to build relationships so you can have references and possibly a mentor as well. Lastly, you should be able to handle professional interviews so when it comes to your next interview, you will already have the skills that will make you shine from the rest of the applicants.

Ditch Dieting

Stop trying to change your ways for other people. People try to change so they can feel validated about themselves and to get the approval from others as well. They always make it a big deal when in reality it isn’t. It only becomes a big deal because you are making it a big deal. People want look perfect but in reality people are far from perfect. The real problem is that people look at someone else’s perception of them and based on that they will feel unhappy. Weight is just a number. In any kind of diet, if you feel that you are depriving yourself in any way, then you are not gonna stick with the diet. You should learn how to eat mindfully and also finding healthy food that you enjoy eating. That way you will not feel deprived and you will get the nourishment that you are needing.

Work-Life Balance

You cannot have the professional success in your life without the personal success. There are many people that are successful professional but their home life was the opposite. It can be due to not being home as much or just working too much. A healthy professional life and a healthy personal life go hand in hand. It will translate directly to a healthy professional life. Connecting with your kids is a great way to have a healthy personal life. Get interested in their interest and support them.
